Picture and paper crafts were quite popular in the Victorian Era from whence this exploding box originated. In this zoom workshop you will learn how to make this paper box and lid that has 28 surfaces where pictures, words, and illustrations can be placed. It is like a little book or photo album in a box… that explodes! Small objects can also be placed at the center as an extra surprise. This structure makes a great gift. It can commemorate a trip, or event, or even serve as an ABC book or story book for a little one. So many possibilities!
There is NO KIT for the workshop as I want you to gather supplies that you want to work with and that you have on hand - I use all found materials! I will guide you through the gathering process with a document listing materials and tools that you will need.
Students will need the following tools: mat knife, bone folder, ruler, glue brush
Students will need the following materials: sturdy paper for the structure, ephemera to decorate, glue, pencil.
Finished project is approximately: 2 ¾ x 2 ½ x 2 ½
More details regarding tools and materials will be sent upon registration.
